Traditional three-meals-a-day has gone by the wayside in many people’s lives. Many people now get the majority of their daily nutrition from smoothies. Today, lives seem to be more hectic than ever. We have become familiar with fast-food windows to supply our meals on the run. And the times when we are home, the microwave has become the appliance of convenience, often with a different meal for each member of the family. Well-planned nutritional meals are often replaced by pizza pockets and other snack foods lacking in nutrition.
While it is true that smoothies are also a convenience food, the ingredients we put in them can supplement our bodies with proteins, vitamins and minerals that may be lacking in our diets. Here are a few things you can add to your smoothie:
Milk or orange juice as a liquid base
Fresh or frozen fruit (blueberries, strawberries, bananas..)

You can swallow your daily vitamin pills at the same time and get most of your daily requirements out of the way. We don’t want to promote this as a way to avoid eating fresh vegetables or getting regular exercise, but at least you will be getting a blast of important immune boosters into your daily regime.
